Interface Catheter Solutions New Automated Balloon Visual Inspection System
Laguna Niguel, CA, May 6, 2010 – Interface Catheter Solutions’ automated balloon visual inspection system, Model BVIS-2000, provides both visual inspection and dimensional measurements of medical balloons in a single operation. Inspection includes classification and size of defects with pass/fail analysis based on user-selected criteria. The BVIS-2000 operates with a sophisticated vision system and analysis program with an intuitive user interface. Fast cycle times with immediate detailed visual and data reporting make the BVIS-2000 ideal for production and research and development.
The BVIS is capable of identifying and classifying visual defects and particulate contamination of manufactured balloons to include gel spots, fish eyes, crow’s feet/strain lines, zipper lines and foreign particulates. The Interface BVIS also measures the width size of defects as well as the distance between them. User can select the visual inspection criteria for size (TAPI) and type of defect for an automatic pass/fail report – ideal for production lines. The BVIS-2000 provides balloon dimensions such as length, width, cone length, cone angle and neck outer dimension (OD).
The automated balloon visual inspection system will be launched at the Medical Device and Manufacturing East Convention at the Javits Convention Center in New York, N.Y. on June 8 to 10, 2010. Interface exhibitors booth number is 637.
