Clam Shell Balloon Forming Machine - Model 2210H-CS

The "Clam Shell" Machine utilizes 2-piece radially opening molds to blow mold catheter balloons. There are certain classes of balloons that specifically require the "Clam Shell" Machine features, such as; long balloons made of soft materials, soft stretchable balloons that require high neck-down and balloons made of materials that typically stick to the mold wall.

Our newly released “Clam Shell” Balloon Forming Machine is the latest addition to our extensive line of Catheter Production Equipment. As with all of the Computerized Balloon Forming Machines we offer, it provides very accurate and repeatable controls needed to produce high-quality balloons. The machine features electrically heated, longitudinally split molds with chilled water cooling. The tubing neck-down is performed in the same machine cycle as balloon formation making it especially suitable for forming balloons from highly elastic and soft materials. The split mold design allows direct access to the mold cavity making balloon removal simple. Clam Shell molds can be treated with anti-stick coatings (Teflon) to handle a variety of materials, such as soft polyurethanes, that would otherwise stick to the mold surface.
