Description
The Balloon Trimmer/Tip Cutter guarantees smooth square cuts at a precise length without the tedious line-up of the part against a ruler. The distance and the angular position of the cut is determined by a custom die, that locates the component with respect to the cutting blade. The blade is completely encased in a protective housing to ensure operator safety and to prevent dulling of the cutting edge by an accidental contact with hard objects.
A custom die is fabricated with a geometry that reflects the balloon cone and neck dimensions, both proximal and distal. Each die can have up to 16 openings or cavities to accommodate different product lines or balloon sizes. If needed the die can be quickly exchanged and the fixture can be reconfigured for another set of balloon sizes.
