Marker Band Swaging Dies

Marker Band Swaging Dies are custom made components used with the Marker Band Swaging Machine. The die is precisely sized and shaped based on the marker band and catheter shaft.

New one-piece swaging die design simplifies and improves set-up and operation and is easy to maintain for repeatable use.

  • Each die is custom made per your specifications
  • Send Interface the marker bands and shaft for testing and precise sizing
  • Simple assembly
  • Fast installation
  • One piece die improves and simplifies set-up

The swaging machine utilizes miniature dies made of heat-treated stainless steel. The newer equipment MBS-200 utilizes a one piece die design for simplified set-up and no assembly required. (Both dies will work on MBS-200 Marker Band Swager)

The original die design is split along the plane containing the axis of the marker band and thus also the axis of the shaft.

Both die cavity have a conical shape with the entry opening slightly larger than the new marker band and exit diameter equal to the required size of the swaged marker band.

The swaging dies are designed to satisfy several key requirements, such as:

  • High precision of all of its components in order to produce swaged parts with +/-0.0002 accuracy
  • The one-piece swaging die design simplifies set-up and operation and is easy to maintain for repeatable use. Cleaning and inspection is simplified. It requires no disassembly and one bolt for fast installation and replacement of the die in the swaging machine.
  • Original die design still offers easy assembly and disassembly for purpose of die cleaning and inspection. Installation or replacement of the die in the swaging machine uses line-up pins and one bolt.
  • Long life of the die and minimal wear of the moving parts (improved with one piece design).

Customers are encouraged to send Interface Catheter Solutions the marker bands and catheter shafts for precision sizing and testing.
